X Rocker Evolution Gaming Chair

xrocker evolutionThe X Rocker Evolution Gaming Chair is a great looking gaming chair. The x rocker evolution has the basic design of a sound rocker, but differs from the standard ones in that it has arm rests (and pretty cool ones at that). These potentially add some stability to the evolution gaming chair, and make it more suited to other uses such as watching TV and listening to music, than the other gaming chairs.

The xrocker evolution has a wireless sound connection and is compatible with all gaming consoles, such as the xbox, nintendo, playstation etc. It will also work with your TV, dvd, stereo and mp3 players. There is reasonable sound quality and the evolution is above normal for comfort.

Personally we’d rather go for the pm1900 cobra, but that is just because we like the firey red colour.

Please rate the x rocker evolution and/or this review

I bought both my boys a pm 420 gaming chair each> one has a ps3 and the chair connected right away. The other has a new xbox 360 elite, but it does not pair up with the chair. Are there compatability issues or hd issues that anyone knows of?

the sound qaulity is excellent 2 minor quibbles though there is a 2 pieces of frame work under the backs of your knees and right in the small of your back that after a while become uncomfertable and give you pins and needles. i would of thought that who ever made it would test the things first. a simple bit of extra padding or moving said frame work would make this a 10 out of 10 purchase. all in all though pretty damn good. if your gonna get one make sure you get some cushions too.

    Hi Claudette,

The best bet would be to contact argos directly regarding the x rocker gaming chair and see what they can do to assist you.

    Hi,

Wor lass bought me the xrocker for xmas n love it tho it is uncomfortable at the back of the knee’s as you can feel the ledge, (A cushion would rectify this) - sound is pretty good tho the power worked 1st day then went to switch it on the next day but the power was constantly on/off, (Suspect adapter issue) which i contacted dealer direct so they are sending me a new adapter out.

I have an Amp & Xbox control centre connected to all my equipment, tv, 360, dvd etc so hooking the sound up was not a problem.

All in all a very good chair.

I am now a week into having my x rocker evolution and a am finding it increasingly uncomfertable, the frame work wich sits directly below my shoulder blades is becoming more promenant and giving me a sore back and the frame work under the back of my knees is sticking out more too. all in all im finding the seat to be totaly dissapointing i was soooo pleased to get this for christmas and feel totaly let down by the poor design of it. have your company tested this seat at all for any duration of time? i would realy appreciate some feed back from your company about the issues im having with your product. also the speakers are very hissy when idle i have the volume setting below half all the time so its not due to the volume and the subwoofer also has a monotonus drone to it.

    very very dissapointed sorry!

I recently bought the X Rocker Evolution to use on wireless.

I wish to run it through my brand new LCD tv - LG327000 1080p LCD, but the TV has no audio outputs at all other than a digital optical. Having read up on the chair in general I’ve been told that a number of newer TV’s these days don’t have audio outputs for some reason. Because of this, I cannot use my X Box 360 (as it has no outputs other than the HDMI to the TV).

My DVD player works fine - its connected to the TV via scart (its an old Sony dvd - no HDMI), but it has the necessary audio ouputs. My TX box (wireless transmitter) is presently connected into the DVD player, but I can’t use anything else.

Any ideas? Or is the chair simply incompatible?

I got one for christmas from my girlfriend and I love……

I have used the continusly for hours and find it very comfortable, I actually find in more comfortable than sitting in a couch…… The sound is fantastic even with only 2 speakers (used to 5.1 surround sound, even on home computer)……

Easily set up, connected direct into the back of the television using the prono leads, so I can even use it to watch films or TV……

i got my x rocker for christmas off the wife and its just come up to a month old and the cusion at the front as completely given up the ghost and all you can feel is the piece of wood across the front which is poor considering i’m not a avid gamer just a gizmo junkie most of the time it’s sat in the corner of the room as a show piece and i find the arm rests very flimsy but apart from that i love the sound but i will be taking it back to argos for a replacement and if it happens to the next one i’ll looking for another make more testing would have helped this emensly

Matt you state that teh arm rests are flimsy……

Sure it is not the X-Rocker II that is teh one Argos, the X-Rocker Evolution has a metal bar running all the way through the arm rest……

Also as for people hurting the backs of thier knees on the framework, I am 6ft 2 and the back of my knees don’t come anywhere near the edge of the framework…..

yeah it works with the xbox 360 very very well.. i got mine hooked up to my xbox 360 elite.. also i hook it up to my electric drum kit.. dont know if thats a good idea though hehe..

Anyways yeah its worth getting seriously.. and yes it does fold for storage.. but that would mean you taking the arm rests of each time.. or you can have it without the arm rests i think :)

so yeah this game chair is as good as it sounds if not better.. The sound is very good.. its worth the money.. anymore questions email me on george1333@hotmail.co.uk

I have this gamechair and i can tell you what i know about it..

    thanks.

hey all from what the descriptions say on the argos website, the chair doesn’t support HDMI just standard def.

also i’ve seen one with a 5 star wheel base on the bottom like a desk chair and i was wondering if it comes with it as from videos it seems to be like 15cm hight of the seat to the floor which will not do my neck any favors!

i would want my seating hieght the same as my current chair which is 45cm and i want to know if its possible with this before buying.

Bought x rocker for my son from Argos. Seems that we have the same prob as everyone else. Can’t connect the chair n x box when using HDMI cable. I’m taking it back, it’s very disappointing, n I think this prob should be stated on the box so that we know!!

sorry but I cannot see how people are getting it wrong……

The chair comes with instructions and all the cables you need…….

Argos state on their webpage that it does not use HDMI…….

it is EASY you use the green 9mm jack (long cable) into the green socket on the side of the side of the chair and then plug the white and red phono plugs into the back of your television, it dont even need to be wired into your Xbox 360 or PS3……

then finally plug the chair in and press the power button and hay presto sit back and enjoy playing games…….

To brad, if you want audio imput to you TV buy a scart lead with audio input and you plug the audio leads into this, so the lead comes from you xbox ps3 etc straight to your new scart with audio imput.
